    Description

For sale is an incredible piece of Philadelphia Phillies history: a game used baseball from Game 5 of the 2008 World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
This ball is MLB authenticated (hologram number LH172250) and was thrown by Rays pitcher David Price to Phillies slugger Ryan Howard in the bottom of the 8th inning. Howard fouled the pitch into the dirt. Howard would go on to strike out in the at-bat, which would be the final plate appearance of the night for the Phillies before Brad Lidge took the mound to close out the game, and the series.
Game 5 began on October 27, 2008 before being suspended in the top of the 6th inning due to torrential rain. The game resumed two days later on October 29, 2008. There were a total of 29 MLB authenticated baseballs from Game 5, and nearly all (25) of them were from October 27.
This is one of only 4 MLB authenticated balls that hit the market from when the game resumed on October 29, the actual night the Phillies won the World Series.
