Used by wholesale timber company in Arkansas, utilized to charge wholesale raw cut lumber sales to retail lumber companies in four states. Wholesaler would place metal plate in charge-a-plate machine and emboss the company name and address onto the invoice automatically. Hand typed addresses on each plate indicating the name on the plate. A total of forty plates with 40 company names on the plates. Plates are in heavy cardboard box. Heavy rust and oxidation on plates. Significant fading on the type written identification papers that are attached to the metal plates. Estimated era: 1940's through 1970's. Commonly called embossing charge plates in the business world.
